KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister, Shazia Marri has strongly condemned the statement of the City Nazim Mustafa Kamal against PPP’’s government, terming it display of highly irresponsible attitude. Speaking to media in Karachi, the minister urged the leadership of the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) to take notice of these statements of their Nazim.
In the United States there has been quite a bit of criticism of John McCain’s visit to Latin America for being ill-timed - although his partisans argue that the trip will shore up his foreign-policy credentials.
So what do Colombians think of the Republican candidate’s visit and the effusive welcome he received from Colombian President Uribe? For Colombia’s top-selling newspaper El Tiempo, Oscar Collazos writes in part:
“Uribe is depositing a symbolic vote for the Republican candidate in the ballot box - a very risky card to play. … Despite the ambiguous efforts of Uribe’s government to imply that the visit doesn’t rule out a future visit by Barack Obama - that’s the message which has been sent. … the fact that we received a presidential candidate who doubles as a clone of the present occupant of the White House with such excessive honors, makes clear our position of inferiority - a position accepted with servility by Colombia’s Chief of State.”
The Colombian Government released video today that was taken during the rescue of the 15 hostages held by FARC this week.
You can see the captives with the hands bound boarding the helicopter for what they thought was a flight to a different FARC camp. Then you see the hostages reaction, including Ingrid Betancourt, on the helicopter after it was announced that they were free:

The video was shot by Colombian soldiers posing as a media crew during the rescue operation. The terrorists were tricked into giving up the hostages.
FARC terrorists had been holding US defense contractors Keith Stansell, Mark Gonsalves and Thomas Howes since 2003 in the jungles of Colombia.
Gonsalves, Stansell and Howes were doing drug surveillance for the Department of Defense when they were taken hostage in February 2003. The single-engine plane carrying them and two other men crashed in a remote, mountainous region south of Colombia’s capital, Bogota. Almost four years later they were still being held by FARC… until their Wednesday interview.

The issue opened on June 30 and was to originally close on July 4.
Poor market sentiment has forced the company to extend the closing date. The issue was subscribed 0.46 times till 4 pm on Friday, as per the NSE website. The issue received 3,31,80,350 bids, of which around 1,88,73,750 were at the cut off price.
The qualified institutional buyers’ portion of 3,34,26,667 shares was subscribed 0.01 times, non-institutional investor portion of 1,00,28,000 shares was subscribed 1.16 times, and the retail portion of 2,33,98,667 shares was subscribed 0.54 times. While the employee’s portion of 48,33,333 hardly received any subscription.
The IPO proceeds would be utilised to set up an integrated textile unit and a garment manufacturing plant at the facilities located at Khamgaon, Ghatanji and Makkapur in Maharashtra. The investment would also fund the company’s foray into retail outlets.
